Don't Mask Your Beauty!

I recently had the privilege of taking part in a awesome photo series by my friend, photographer Jarek James.    The Series is called, Beauty Mask and features beautiful women of all ethnic backgrounds!  The full series will be on display July 4th weekend at a special gallery event in Atlanta (I will fill you guys in on all the details later!)  Anywho...here is a taste of the series!  You can also see more of his work on his facebook page!  Also, if you are into twitter, you can follow him @jamagination

Katie Bryce's Closet - Let It Burn

If you are a regular viewer of my blog then you know that I (like so many others) am on a serious budget and like to style myself from thrift store finds!  Occasionally, I splurge and buy more expensive items (usually shoes) but more often, the luxury items that make their way into my wardrobe are gifts from friends and family.  The following look was created from a Ralph Lauren Collection dress that I found in the thrift store, a denim jacket from the little girl's department in Target and a pair of wonderful shoes that my sister found and bought for me in Paris!

Life and Style: Table Setting made Easy

In my hometown, there were three types of girls: the girls who lived in the golf club, the girls who lived in trailer parks, and the girls who lived everywhere else.  Growing up in the house my grandparents built, on land that belonged to my great grandparents, I fell into the "everywhere else" category.  At the time, I desperately wanted to be one of the "golf club girls", and that meant taking part in cotillion.  I begged my mother (to no avail) to let me join cotillion, just as I begged her to move us to the golf club.  As a result of my mother's refusal, I stayed at 20 Pope Lane till I moved to Atlanta and never properly leaned how to set a table.  I'm perpetually confused by which fork goes where and all that jazz.  Thankfully, artist Amy Borell has come to my rescue!  Her art is whimsical and romantic and beautiful.  If you enjoy this table setting illustration, please check out her blog or her website.

On The Campaign Trail: Chanel Spring 2012

Unlike the colorful and frivolous ad campaigns I have previously featured on my blog, the Chanel campaign is more simple and clean.  It is no less beautiful however, and for me it invokes powerful feelings of escape and luxury.  As we get ready to break free from the winter and enter into a new season, keep in mind the beautiful flowing lacy and sheer textures seen in these Chanel ads!  Incorporating these textiles into your wardrobe this spring will help keep you cool and confident in your style!  (oh, and Chanel too is featuring chunky heels with socks!)

Katie Bryce's Closet - Valentines Day Edition

On The Campaign Trail: Mulberry Spring 2012 Ad Campaign

This ad campaign is soooo much fun!  It is a rainy, cold and dreary day here in Atlanta and just looking at these photos puts a smile on my face!  How I wish I could spend my time playing at the beach in the remains of a giant ice cream cone in fabulous designer clothes!!!  My favorite features from the collection are the chiffon skirts, the sea foam, nude and blush colored pieces, and the pops of sunshine yellow! (And as a side note, Im glad to see that the socks with heels trend is not going away as it is one of my fave looks!)
